Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has reacted fast to Sony Ericsson's lunch of stylish phones by unveiling its own handsets.Over one million units of Samsung's Soul designer phone have sold since it went on sale a month ago.The Samsung Soul and Samsung L700 seek to lure the fashion conscious consumer who also wants power packed technology in his/her mobile phone.The UK alone was responsible for more than a quarter of the Soul's sales for the month, according to the Korean company, with about 280,000 phones trading hands. Germany also had a disproportionately large number of sales at 150,000.
Samsung has sold one million Soul phones, featuring touch icons in the first month of its sales, reports Telecoms Korea citing a statement from Samsung. In the UK, the first two weeks sales amounted to 80,000 units, while German sales exceeded 150,000 units in one and a half month thanks to hero marketing activities with German football player Michael Ballack.The obvious shortfall is in the imaging department: Soul b is the only handset in the lineup to miss a 5-megapixel shooter. As for the rest, the pedigree is there.Magic Touch technology for the main navigation controls, which change chameleon-like, depending on what one wants to do.
